Announcing the 2014 the 2014 Chevrolet Performance LSX Challenge Series Schedule

Alright drag racing fans, we invite you to officially get ready for the first of four multi-class action events in the 2014 Chevrolet Performance Parts LSX Challenge. Kicking things off in Atlanta May 30-June 1 is the 3rd Annual Chevy High Performance (All-GM) Nationals. 

If you followed along with our in-depth coverage of the LSX Challenge Series last year – then you know you're in for some of the fastest, most competitive LS and LSX-powered racing – anywhere!  And, have no fear, racing fans, as, just like last year, The BLOCK Crew will be covering each of these events, bringing you behind-the-scenes content, exclusive interviews and images you won't be able to find anywhere else! 

According to the official NMCA press release, here are the official dates and locations for this year's events:

8th Annual NMCA Muscle Car Nationals

5th Annual Holley LS-Fest

Beech Bend Raceway - Bowling Green, Kentucky

September 5-7, 2014

October 9-12, 2014

The LSX Challenge Series features six racing classes each season:

  • JE Pistons Drag Radial
  • ERL Performance All Motor
  • Holley EFI Real Street
  • Proform LSX Rumble
  • LME 5th Gen Camaro
  • Gear Vendors True Street

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE: Announcing the 2014 Chevrolet Performance LSX Challenge Series Schedule  

Premier quarter-mile drag racing four event series for street-based vehicles powered by Chevrolet's popular LS and LSX engines    

Santa Ana, CA (March 3, 2014) - ProMedia Events is proud to announce that the Chevrolet Performance LSX Challenge Series is back for 2014 - and more competitive than ever.  It is the premier racing series for street-based vehicles powered by Chevrolet's LS and LSX engines and it takes place at four select events around the U.S.  The four-race Chevrolet Performance LSX Challenge Series for 2014 includes stops in Commerce, Georgia, and Norwalk, Ohio, with the championship again to be decided at the 8th Annual Chevrolet Performance LSX Shootout, held in conjunction with the NMCA World Street Finals in Indianapolis, Indiana.    

The race dates and locations include:  

3rd Annual Chevy High Performance (All-GM) Nationals  Presented by Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center  Atlanta Dragway - Atlanta, Georgia  May 30 - June 1, 2014    

8th Annual NMCA Muscle Car Nationals  Featuring the Detroit Big 3 Shootout & Chevrolet Performance LSX Challenge Series  Summit Motorsports Park - Norwalk, OH  August 21-24, 2014    

5th Annual Holley LS-Fest  Beech Bend Raceway - Bowling Green, Kentucky  September 5-7, 2014  

13th Annual Fel-Pro NMCA World Street Finals  Featuring the 8th Annual Chevrolet Performance LSX Shootout  Lucas Oil Raceway - Indianapolis, Indiana  October 9-12, 2014    

The third event will be the Holley LS Fest, Sept. 5-7, 2014, in Bowling Green, KY, at Beech Bend Raceway. As in the past, LS Fest organizers will allow racers to follow the rules and classes of the LSX Challenge Series, with points and contingency awarded during it applying to the championship.  Racers competing for the championship must participate in three of the four races, including the LSX Shootout. The results of each race will be tracked throughout the season in NMCA's Fastest Street Car magazine.  

The LSX Challenge Series features six racing classes each season:

  • Gear Vendors True Street

Along with supporting the LSX Shootout series, Chevrolet Performance enables racers to compete and win with a growing range of LSX maximum-performance crate engines and engine parts.  Chevrolet Performance and NMCA's family of sponsors will be posting valuable racer contingencies for all LSX race classes in 2014.  Chevrolet Performance will be well represented by its host dealer, Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center, at all LSX Challenge Series events.  Be sure to visit with Scoggin-Dickey personnel to answer tech questions and explain the key attributes of the latest parts.
