Any time we’re at an NHRA event, we make it a point to link up with the folks of John Force Racing (JFR). And, although the team bears the name of the 16-time Funny Car Champion, there are many others who are involved in making the JFR team great. This past weekend, we got a glimpse behind the curtain of our favorite nitro-fueled team in drag racing.
One of our favorite things about visiting the JFR team trailer is making our way through the hordes of fans trying to get a glimpse of his/her favorite driver. The JFR team is comprised of John Force, Courtney Force, Brittany Force and Robert Hight. All are behind the wheel of Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Cars apart from Brittany who drives a Top Fuel dragster.
Each driver’s pit area has mechanics and engineers hovering over the cars to ensure their performance for the upcoming race. The fans get to watch from a few feet away as the teams wrench on and finally start up the cars, which is an experience worth having if you haven’t stood next to a nitro-fueled drag car with the engine running.
Eventually, the time came for the teams to suit up and head to the staging lanes for their first run that day, but before they did, we were able to snag a few images as the teams worked on the cars. We hope you enjoy this photo gallery a much as we enjoyed creating it. And, join us in wishing the entire JFR team good luck as they continue their 2017 racing season this weekend in Commerce, Georgia for the Southern Nationals. Check out our article at the 2015 Four-Wide where we interviewed several of the crew chiefs on prep, lane choice, tuning and more right here.
