SOLD! History was made today as COPO Camaro #69 went up for auction at Barrett-Jackson, raising $400,000 to benefit the American Heart Association.

Our editorial staff has been following the COPO Camaro since the unveiling of the COPO Camaro concept car at SEMA 2011. And where did we go for all the latest info on the COPO Camaro? of course!

The BLOCK team got to follow COPO #69 as it made its way from outdoor display to the auction block. (And posted our play-by-play updates on the Chevrolet Performance Facebook page!)

Outside, next to its new Corvette brother, the inferno orange convertible was proudly on display. Jim Campbell, U.S. Vice President of Performance Vehicles and Motorsports, sat down with SPEED TV to talk about the car before heading towards the auction.

The vehicle drew a lot of attention once in the staging lanes. SPEED TV took the opportunity to tour the entire car, broadcasting its supercharged 327 to the world.

And after a quick, swift bidding war between a few interetsed parties, the winning bid of $400,000 was declared, and one lucky bidder is going home with a piece of automotive history.
