Meet the Chevrolet Camaro NHRA Pro Stock Drivers at the 2014 Chevrolet Performance NHRA US Nationals

Tags

Heading into the biggest race of the NHRA Mello Yellow Drag Racing season, the Chevrolet Camaros have been dominating the NHRA Pro Stock category all year long. What would make anyone think that they wouldn’t continue that dominance this weekend at “The Big Go?” The Camaros have won 10 of the 16 races thus far this season, and hold down seven of the top-10 positions in the NHRA Pro Stock points standings.

This year’s Chevrolet Performance NHRA US Nationals marks the 60th running of the historic event. For a driver to win in Pro Stock at Indy, it puts you in elite company alongside some of the greatest drivers in the history of the sport. If Greg Anderson can bring his Summit Racing Equipment Chevy Camaro to victory lane on Monday, it will mark his 7th Indy triumph, putting him all alone in second all-time in US Nationals victories behind only the legendary Bob Glidden in Pro Stock, who has nine.

The US Nationals also marks the final race of the NHRA “regular season.” Starting two weeks from now in Charlotte, The NHRA begins their “Countdown to the Championship.” This locks the top-10 drivers in an all out battle for the title for the final six races of the season. Chevrolet Camaros occupy seven of those ten positions.

Take a look below at a brief profile of all of the 2014 Chevrolet NHRA Pro Stock teams and drivers. If you are in the Charlotte area in two weeks, be sure to stop by the pit area, meet all of our “Camaro drivers” and wish them luck in the Countdown to the Championship.
